The Long County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating the Wednesday-afternoon death of a Long County man.

GBI Special Agent in Charge Stacy Carson said in a news release issued Thursday that the sheriff’s office requested that the GBI conduct an investigation into an apparent shooting death. 

The release states that no foul play is suspected, and the cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy. 

The victim was identified as Russell Otis Bailey, 52. Carson said in the release that the incident occurred at a clubhouse off Gator Pond Road in Long County.
