Sept. 9: Simple battery — An officer went to a Franklin Street home in reference to an anonymous domestic dispute complaint. A male resident said he and his wife had been arguing about their pending divorce and his departure for Iowa, when his wife slapped him in the face. The man said he did not hit is wife, and it was not the first time she had hit him. The wife confirmed her husband’s description of the incident and said she’s upset about her family being split up. Due to the minor nature of the incident and lack of physical evidence, no arrest was made.

Stalking — A woman came to the Hinesville Police Department to file a complaint about the harassing text messages and illicit videos she had been receiving from the mother of her boyfriend’s child. The woman said her alleged aggressor also came to the woman’s workplace and started arguments with her. The complainant was advised of warrant procedures and told to save all messages to be used as evidence.
