July 7: Assist other agency (robbery) — Two officers responded to Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park in reference to a robbery.
The complainant told the officers that her son was robbed by a man who had recently been incarcerated. The suspect hung around the residence, asking the complainant for a cigarette. Later, her son arrived, and the suspect asked him for a ride and $20. The son said he was intimidated by him, so he agreed to give him a ride to the offender’s house in Walthourville.
In the vehicle, the suspect called to his brother. The son thought he heard them talking about robbing him, but the offender said they were talking about the robbery involving Ernie Walthour.
Eventually, the son turned the car around to go back home, when the suspect stole another $20 and told the son to stop the car. The suspect left the car, and the son returned home.
The complainant also said that the offender made several comments about Ernie Walthour.

The driver said the car did not belong to him and that it belonged to the passenger’s wife, who was in jail. Neither of them could locate the insurance card. The driver had a warrant through Jesup and was placed under arrest.
While putting him in handcuffs, the officer smelled alcohol on him and found an open container in the vehicle.
