Brandon Hill, 27, of Jesup, was killed Thursday afternoon when he ran into the path of a cement truck at the intersection of Highway 27 and North Third Street, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Raumando Thompson of the Brunswick post.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thompson said Hill had gotten into an altercation with a group of individuals, threw a bottle at a woman and took off running. It is believed Hill was being followed by three people when he ran into the intersection without stopping, according to witnesses.
The cement truck driver, identified as Andrew Donagi, 44, of Screven, was driving the 35 mph speed limit when Hill stepped in front of his truck, Thompson said. Donagi will not face charges.
Jesup police are investigating the events that led to the incident.
