Fire Prevention Month: Members of the Lake George Fire Department pose for a group photo Oct. 20 during an event hosted at the fire station in recognition of Fire Prevention Month. Highlights of the event included appearances by Smokey the Bear, the Life Star Helicopter crew, EMS personnel, state and county police officers, the Fort Stewart fire dog, the Jesup rollover machine, the Red Cross and the American Legion. A parade of emergency vehicles also traveled through Lake George and Woodwind Lakes. The Lake George Fire Department has 15 members, including five women.
