Oct. 21: DFACS Referral — A Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputy reported to a call in Riceboro about several small children being left unattended at a residence on Peter King Road.

One of the two callers was the grandmother of the children. When the deputy went to the trailer to investigate, no one was there, but he noted in his report the home was “a mess.”

He later found out the grandmother had called the children’s mother and warned her that the deputy was coming to check on the children.

She later explained she didn’t want her daughter to get in trouble with DFACS.
