Liberty County Chief Deputy Jon Long recently attended and received training and information emphasizing highway safety and leadership.
Long participated in the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association 2013 Command Staff Training Conference in Macon.
The three-day training session was for upper-level command staff of sheriffs’ offices from throughout the state. More than 150 officers participated in the training conference.
The conference was made possible through a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, according to a release from the Georgia Sheriff’s Association.
“The Command Staff Training Conference is a tremendous opportunity for the upper level command leadership within sheriffs’ offices to attain specialized training,” said Tonia Welch, training director of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association.
