Long County law enforcement authorities are still looking for a suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous, Thomas Darnell Jefferson, 23.
Jefferson is wanted for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery and aggravated assault case.
Anyone with information about Jefferson’s locations should call the Long County Sheriff’s Office at 545-2118 or the Ludowici Police Department at 545-9472. Any information provided will be kept confidential.
The LCSO also:
• Arrested and charged Kelly Lowell Davis, 49, with theft by taking after video surveillance cameras allegedly showed him stealing $488 in cash and checks from The Country Store on Rye Patch Road.
• Arrested and charged George Jarrard Kent, 45, with burglary by forced entry to a residence in connection with a break-in at a home in the Burnt Pines Subdivision.
Long County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Tom Sollosi said Kent allegedly broke into the residence, setting off a silent alarm that sent an LCSO deputy to the scene. When the deputy arrived, he found a truck at the residence that reportedly contained items from inside the home, including a large-screen
TV.
Sollosi said responders also found a pair of bedroom slippers in the house’s yard. Investigators secured the neighborhood with help from the Walthourville Police Department and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. After a search of the area, Kent was found wearing socks but no shoes and was arrested.
After further investigation, Kent was linked to the truck found at the home. Sollosi said the residents were not home during the incident.
