Below is the MACE drug task force’s report for the month of May.

MACE drug task force worked 84 cases with 77 offenders. Drugs were seized that had a street value of $73,642. In addition, agents seized $2,615 in currency, one vehicle valued at $600 and six weapons. Twenty-four cases were closed with no arrests. MACE agents trained on firearms qualification and attended a law enforcement seminar. Among some of the drugs seized were 17 marijuana plants, 3.4 pounds of marijuana, 7.1 grams of cocaine powder and 14 drug-related items.

MACE agents served a warrant and arrested Maurice Richardson, 19, for possession of cocaine and marijuana. Anthony Jackson, 19, was charged with two counts of selling cocaine and a misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

MACE agents, along with Long County Sheriff officials, responded to several complaints in the Sand Hill community.
According to the incident report filed by Long County, officers converged on the scene and several suspects began to leave the immediate area.
MACE conducted a search of a residence and discovered a pill bottle full of crack cocaine and a pistol.
The agents were unable to locate the person responsible for the weapon and crack. But during the investigation, a MACE agent found a small, black Tupperware container that contained crack cocaine.
The container was left in place and surveillance was established.
About five minutes later, a suspect returned to the area searching for the container.
When the suspect located, the container and was about to leave, he was arrested.
Samuel Lee Washington, 22, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and may also face a charge of possession of marijuana.
