Man wanted for Washington murder arrested in Hinesville

A man reportedly wanted for a murder in Tacoma, Washington was arrested Wednesday by Liberty County Sheriff’s Department deputies after he was found at a Ruby Tuesday’s in Hinesville.

The man, Demetrius Jackson, is allegedly involved in an incident where another man was shot in the neck, according to a press release from LCSD.

According to the release, Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes was told by the Savannah field office of the FBI that Jackson was in Hinesville. Deputies found Jackson with the help of special agents from Fort Stewart’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Jackson was arrested at approximately 2:15 p.m. after he left the restaurant. He was taken to Liberty County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Washington, according to the release.
