Midway man critical after bike wreck

SAVANNAH — Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating an accident that shut down Highway 17 northbound at Highway 204 for more than two hours Thursday morning and injured a Midway man.
At 6:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to an accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The SCMPD Major Accident Investigations Team responded. They determined the vehicle, a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro was in the turn lane on Highway 17. The driver was attempting to turn left onto Highway 204 when he was struck by a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Rodney Clark, 46, of Midway. Clark had been traveling north on  Highway 17.  
He was thrown from the motorcycle and was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing.
