Dana Ziegler of Midway had been strangled and beaten before she was found dead on Dec. 19.
Liberty County Coroner Reginald Pierce said the 54-year-old woman was killed by strangulation and blunt force injuries, according to an autopsy conducted at the GBI crime lab in Savannah.
Randall Futch, 32, Ziegler’s roommate, was arrested and has been charged with murder and theft by taking in connection with this case. He was denied bond.
