A Midway woman was killed Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Quincy Melvin.
Jennifer Jernigan, 26, was ejected from her vehicle shortly after 9 p.m. on Fort Morris Road in Midway.
She had been traveling east on Fort Morris Road near Trade Hill Road when she reportedly lost control of her Ford F-150 pickup. Melvin said she skidded onto the shoulder of the road and overcorrected when she returned to the roadway, sending her truck onto the shoulder on the opposite side of the road.
The vehicle struck two trees, overturned and Jernigan was ejected.
She was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, where she later was pronounced
dead.
Melvin declined to comment on what caused the accident. It is under investigation.
