Emergency responders stopped traffic on Highway 17 southbound just outside Richmond Hill following a Friday afternoon accident.

According to Assistant Chief Otis Willis with Bryan County Emergency Services, a man was walking on the side of the road around 3 p.m. near Cartertown Road and Highway 17 when he was hit by a truck.

“I don’t know what kind of truck it was,” Willis said. “I don’t know his condition.”
