SAVANNAH — Two men have been indicted in connection with a botched kidnapping that resulted in a three-hour standoff in downtown Savannah.

The Savannah Morning News (http://bit.ly/MDm3t3 ) reports that 26-year-old Kevin Dale Brooks and 23-year-old Brian Jones were indicted Wednesday.

The indictment charges only Brooks with kidnapping 60-year-old Earl Hamilton, who told police he was being forced to take Brooks to an ATM and withdraw money while Jones held his 12-year-old son hostage. The indictment also charges both men with false imprisonment and burglary, and Brooks with possession of cocaine — a controlled substance.

Brooks barricaded himself on May 17 inside a landmark restaurant then surrendered after a standoff that shut down part of Savannah's 18th-century historic district.
