Postal inspectors and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office are looking for the masked assailant who entered the Riceboro Post Office around 2 p.m. Thursday and held postal employees at gunpoint. Authorities describe the suspect as a black male with a thin build. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this crime.  Anyone with information should immediately call the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455 or the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 369-2020.

“The safety and security of postal employees is our top priority. Anyone who puts postal employees in harm’s way will be sought, captured and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Keith Morris, postal inspector in charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Atlanta Division. “An active and aggressive investigation is under way, committed to finding those responsible for this brazen crime.”
