SAVANNAH — Savannah police have identified a body discovered inside a burning vehicle.

Savannah-Chatham County police said an autopsy was done and the woman was identified as 18-year-old Amber Deloach of Savannah, a former St. Vincent's Academy and Islands High School student.

Police tell The Savannah Morning News (http://bit.ly/O2kggB) that her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Deloach's body was found early Sunday after firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the Yamacraw Village public housing complex near downtown.

Savannah-Chatham County police spokeswoman Gena Bilbo says the body was spotted as the flames were being extinguished.
