SUV rams into motel's breakfast room

A Fort Stewart soldier made an unscheduled stop Monday when he drove his new Toyota Scion into the breakfast room of the Liberty Inn and Suites, 213 W. Gen. Screven Way in Hinesville.

According to Hinesville Police Lt. Max McLendon, Joshua Bowes, 23, of Hinesville, was not injured in the wreck. Hotel owner Mark Edson said he and two employees were talking when they heard a loud noise. Edson went into the breakfast room that was empty at the time and found Bowes trying exit his vehicle. Pieces of furniture were strewn around the room.

The wreck is under investigation.
