Three men, two of whom had been on the run, recently were arrested for their alleged involvement in a burglary last month in Long County.
According to Long County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Tom Sollosi, Kevin G. Giorgi, 23, and David A. Bello Jr., 22, were apprehended by authorities July 16 in Glocester, R.I., after being detained in a routine traffic stop.
The two former Sand Hill residents reportedly fled the county after learning they would be prosecuted for a June 27 burglary in a remote area off Highway 196, Sollosi said.
Giorgi and Bello were returned to Long County on July 25, charged and detained. Sollosi said a third person who also is suspected of taking part in the burglary, Paul J. Parrish, was arrested after being pulled over in a routine traffic stop June 27 in Liberty County. Parrish, 27, also lived in the Sand Hill community, the detective said.
Sollosi said all three men have been charged with burglary and are in jail awaiting a court date.
“I want to thank our law-enforcement partners from the state of Rhode Island and Glocester Police Department for assisting in the apprehension of these fugitives from Georgia,” Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles said.
