Tuesday morning’s wreck, which left one vehicle flipped over on Hinesville's Main Street, involved three vehicles, not one as previously reported.
The crash also sent one person to Liberty Regional Medical Center after being cut by a crushed windshield.
According to the traffic accident report filed at the Hinesville Police Department, Mary Dash was driving a 1985 Buick LeSabre when she failed to yield the right-of-way at the traffic circle on Main Street. Dash's Buick collided with the driver’s side of Ayonna Watley’s 2008 Ford Escape causing it to swerve counter clockwise and eventually flip. The Escape rolled on its side and then its roof and hit the passenger side of a 1996 Toyota Avalanche driven by April Thomas. Watley’s Escape came to rest upside down.
Thomas reported she was stopped when she saw Dash hit the Escape. The incident tied up traffic at the circle just as rush hour was winding down around 8:45 a.m.
Watley was taken to the hospital for cuts. Thomas had minor cuts but was not taken to Liberty Regional.
According to Traffic Accident Investigator Michael Mooney, Dash failed to obey a traffic control device and failed to yield.
