The body of 67 year-old Leroy Benjamin was discovered after his aunt reported not hearing from him for the last two months. Deputies went to check on Benjamin when his aunt, who lives in Savannah, reported her nephew would normally call every few weeks and visit periodically but had not done so in two months. As deputies checked his home, they detected a strong odor coming from the rear of the house and found him lying on his bed. It appeared he had been there for some time. According to detectives there were no visible signs of foul play and an autopsy determined the death was from natural causes.
