Two Long County residents face charges for allegedly driving recklessly in Ludowici.
Ludowici Police Chief Robert Poppell said that on Feb. 16, Merrill Chapman and Justin Brazell allegedly were spotted driving recklessly on Highway 84 a little after midnight. He said both men, who are in 20s, are believed to have spun doughnuts at the traffic light.
Poppell said after the city and Long County Sheriff’s Office investigated, warrants were issued for the arrests.
Poppell said both have been charged with laying drag and reckless driving.
“The parties responsible for the eyesore of black marks spun upon the city streets made a poor judgment call and knew better,” the chief said. “There is no justification for defacing the streets we have to travel upon each and every day.”
