The young man allegedly responsible for the death of Kiara Gray, 22, has turned himself in to police. Hinesville Police's lead detective, Maj. Thomas Cribbs said Christopher Burton turned himself in today.
Cribbs said Gray, the mother of three small children who had recently started work at Golden Corral, was hit in the head by a bullet when a gun discharged during a fight. It happened about 2 a.m. Friday during a poker game.
Cribbs said two people started fighting, one of them pulled a gun and started pistol whipping the other. The gun discharged during the whipping, Cribbs said.
The game and subsequent fight occurred in the 900 block of Whippoowill Way.
The investigation continues.
