Five vehicles were vandalized recently at Walker Middle School, Ludowici Police Chief Robert Poppell said.

On April 6, Ludowici officers investigated a report of vandalism at the school. Intruders apparently entered a secured area at the school and sprayed an anti-leak corrosive black spray paint all over two pickup trucks and a van, as well as on two golf carts used by the Long County Sheriff’s Office school resource officer, Ludowici said.

He said the spray paint was laced with obscenities and appeared to have taken place over the previous weekend.

Poppell said that whoever entered the area either climbed over the fence or squeezed through a damaged gate. The inside of the shed also was sprayed, he said

The case has been turned over to the LCSO, and Lt. Danny Dinkins is leading the investigation, Poppell said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call either the sheriff’s office at (912) 545-2118 or the police department at (912) 545-2222.
