Reports filed with the Hinesville Police Department recently include:

Nov. 14
Suspicious acts — A woman reported that she was lying in bed in her Lost Grove Lane residence when she saw a light flash through her bedroom window. She said the window was cracked open, and shortly after seeing the light, she could hear what sounded like someone tampering with the window screen. She said she yelled out the window and then heard someone running away from the residence.
A search of the property did not reveal anything. No damage was done to the window screen.

Suspicious acts/possession of marijuana — An officer was dispatched to the Subway next to Food Lion on Highway 196 in reference to a man sitting in a car in the parking lot smoking marijuana. When the officer arrived, the man was standing beside the car with the driver’s door open. When the officer began to approach the car, the driver shut the door, but the officer could smell the marijuana coming from the vehicle. The man gave verbal consent for his vehicle to be searched. The search revealed a half-smoked marijuana blunt, along with several marijuana roaches. No one was arrested.
