A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a wreck on Leroy Coffer Highway, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Quincy Melvin. A Liberty County woman and her daughter were traveling in minivan on the highway when a dump truck attempted to cross the intersection from Freedman Grove Road onto Pate Rogers Road. The truck struck the Dodge Caravan on the driver’s side, trapping the 28-year-old-woman. She later was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The child was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
