Republicans active with conventions

Liberty County Republicans have recently been active in county and district conventions.
The First Congressional District Republican Party Convention took place April 22 at Camden County High School in St. Mary’s.
District convention delegates from Liberty County included Ted Harris, Roger Wells, Kay Wells, Bud and Barbara Frankenthaler, John Ryon and John Wood.
The convention opened with an address from First District U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston. Kingston spoke about the importance of supporting the United States military and the coming 2008 election.
Bud Frankenthaler was elected as treasurer and Ryon assistant treasurer. Barbara Frankenthaler will serve on the State Republican Committee.
On March 24, the Liberty County Republican Party met for the county convention. Harris was elected chairman of the Liberty County Republican Party. Roger Wells and Wood will serve as first and second vice chairmen. Barbara Frankenthaler was elected secretary and Ryon will assume the role of treasurer.
Liberty County Republicans will send a delegation to the State Republican Convention planned for May 18-19 in Atlanta.
