Moms and babies can expect quality care at their hometown hospital. On Thursday, Liberty Regional Medical Center held a ribbon cutting for the Liberty Obstetrics Gynecology Center.

“We are very fortunate to provide OB/GYN services,” Liberty Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Michael Hester said.

Formerly known as the Comprehensive OB/GYN Health Center, it is now under the umbrella of LRMC and Dr. Seth Borquaye will remain the lead physician.

Chairman James Rogers spoke of the achievements Dr. Borquaye has accomplished in his 18 years affiliated with the local hospital.

“I’ve been on the board about 12 years and there have been many changes, but one common thread is Dr. Borquaye,” Rogers said. “You are the foundation of health care here.”

Liberty County Commissioner Chairman Donald Lovette also spoke highly of Dr. Borquaye and described his joining with the hospital as “truly a win-win situation.”

When it was time for Dr. Borquaye’s speech, he explained what led him to Hinesville and his passion for taking care of patients.

“Eighteen years ago I moved here, not knowing what I was coming to do, but my mission was to make a difference,” Dr. Borquaye said. “There’s no way I could have been successful without everyone here.”

“We are blessed and fortunate to have him,” CEO Hester said. “We expect to grow and continue women’s services.”
