Runoff election for mayor, 2 council seats

If preliminary results hold though more than 1,000 votes cast early that have not been counted, there will be a runoff for Hinesville mayor.
In voting Tuesday, Jim Thomas got the most votes, but his 859 was not 50 percent of the 1,827 votes cast. So he will face Bob Pirkle, who attracted 594 votes, or 32 percent.
