Senior Citizens, Inc. to offer free lunch and lecture at Hinesville Neighborhood Center
Senior Citizens Inc

People may think they know what is meant when someone says “the South,” or do we? This lighthearted presentation attempts to define the region geographically and culturally, all while answering the question, “What makes the South the South?”

Roger Smith is the founding director of The Learning Center of Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI). Prior to joining SCI in 2006, Smith was the director of education at the Georgia Historical Society, a role in which he planned and presented history programs for young people and adults throughout the state. He is a former museum educator in Savannah and a classroom teacher of American literature.

The lecture will be held Friday, Aug. 26, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at the Liberty Neighborhood Center, 800 Tupelo Trail, with lunch to follow.

The lecture and lunch are free, but registration is required by Aug. 22. Space is limited. To reserve a seat and lunch afterward, call (912) 877-0056.
