Share your story: Help with 'Battling breast cancer' series
breast cancer awareness month.jpg

With Breast Cancer Awareness month upon us, the Coastal Courier would like to tell the story of breast cancer survivors and families who have lost a relative to the disease. The Courier will run a special “pink” section on Oct. 27. This section will be devoted to recognizing survivors and honoring the memories of those who lost the battle.

An estimated one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime according to breastcancer.org. The site also reports as of 2018 there are over 3.1 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S. Bear in mind, men also get breast cancer.

If you or a relative have battled breast cancer and would like to share your story, please contact reporter Asha Gilbert at 912-876-0156 or agilbert@coastalcourier.com.
