A late night party Friday in Hinesville resulted in multiple shots fired and one person injured.

The shooting incident occurred on the 900 block of Pineland Ave.

According to Hinesville Police Department Criminal Investigation Division Lt. Mike Gosseck, a fight broke out at a party inside a Pineland Ave. residence. Partygoers spilled into the street firing multiple rounds from various weapons into the air. At one point, a Fort Stewart Soldier sustained a gunshot injury to the left arm and was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville where he was treated and released, according to Gosseck.

The shooting incident resulted in the arrest of Ricky Barnett for providing false information to investigators.. Barnett bonded out of the Liberty County Jail on a $650 bond.

Gosseck said police are looking into whether the wounding of the soldier was intentional or accidental. HPD expects to make additional arrests.
