State Sen. Buddy Carter, R-Pooler, has received the Senate committee assignments for the 2011 legislative session. Carter will serve as the chairman of the State Institutions and Property Committee, as well as vice chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee.  Throughout the session, Carter also will serve on the Appropriations, Ethics and Regulated Industries and Utilities committees.
“It is a privilege to be serving on each of these committees in the Senate.  All have an impact on our district and on the state of Georgia and my participation on each of these committees will be beneficial to our community.  As chairman of the State Institutions and Property Committee, legislation will be heard relating to the construction and maintenance of buildings, lands and other property owned or managed by the state of Georgia,” Carter said. “Being a member of appropriations is vitally important, especially with the budget shortfalls the state has been experiencing.  I am honored to continue serving each of you in the Georgia General Assembly.”
Carter represents Senate District 1 covering Bryan County, and portions of Chatham County and Liberty County in the Georgia General Assembly.
