ATLANTA — The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for large parts of north Georgia.

The weather service said in a statement that the frost advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday.

Forecasters say temperatures are expected to plunge to 33 to 36 degrees in parts of the region.

The frost advisory covers the entire metro Atlanta area, as well as several Georgia cities. They include LaGrange, Gainesville, Rome and Dalton.

The frost advisory means that frost is possible, and sensitive outdoor plants might be killed if left uncovered.

Temperatures are expected to rebound by Monday, when highs in the Atlanta area are expected to reach the lower 70s.
