WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga. 1st, has announced he will sponsor a series of workshops, including one in Hinesville, during the open enrollment season for the Medicare Part D prescription drug program.
Counselors will be available to speak with participants about their Medicare options. Those who are enrolled or wish to enroll in the program must sign up or make changes during the open enrollment period which began Nov. 15 and ends Dec. 31.
Hinesville’s workshop is set for Thursday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m.-noon at Savannah Technical Colleges Liberty County campus, 100 Technology Drive.
Anyone eligible for this plan is encouraged to attend and bring a complete list of all prescriptions they are currently taking. To help expedite the process, participants are encouraged to bring their Medicare card and fill out and bring a Medicare Part D Enrollment Event Worksheet that can be found at www.kingston.house.gov/PartD.
Staff from Georgia Cares, a program of the Georgia Department of Human Resources and Division of Aging Services and Area Agencies on Aging, will also be on hand to answer questions.
“The cost and coverage of the Medicare prescription drug plan can change over time,” Kingston said.  “I encourage those people with Medicare to take this time to review those changes and make sure they still have the plan that best fits their needs or the needs of their loved one. Adequate prescription drug coverage is very important to many older Americans and we want to make sure that all of their questions are answered.”
