Lane closures slowing traffic on I-95

Road work on I-95 between the Riceboro and Midway exits is slowing traffic through the area. If you can, avoid it by using Highway 17.

Here is the news release from the state DOT:

WHEN: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009, weather permitting

          7 p.m. - 7 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2009, weather permitting

          7 p.m. - 7 a.m., Thursday, July 9, 2009, weather permitting

 

WHERE: I-95 north from Mile Post 66 to Mile Post 68

           I-95 north from Mile Post 72 to Mile Post 74

           I-95 south from Mile Post 72 to Mile Post 71

 

WHAT: Single lane closures on Interstate 95 north and double lane closure on I-95 south. Contractor for GDOT will perform corrective work on bridge approaches. Traffic on I-95 south will not be affected on July 7 and 8; Traffic on I-95 north will not be affected on July 9.

 

This is a WORK ZONE and extreme caution is necessary. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this construction work zone. Message signs, barrels and cones will be utilized to alert the public of the upcoming changes.
