ATLANTA — Sen. Buddy Carter, R-Pooler, was recently appointed to serve on the Senate Policy Group, which will help research and craft legislation based on the best ideas from other states and the statewide Solution Summits currently being held around the state.
“I am honored to be a member of this important committee” Carter said. “Through proactive initiatives such as these our state will be able to identify policies and procedures that are best suited for our future needs.
"We all understand that none of us are as smart as all of us.”
The Policy Group was created by Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers. Sens. Bill Hamrick, R-Carrollton, Josh McKoon, R-Columbus, and Mitch Seabaugh, R-Sharpsburg, will also serve on the committee.
“Finding the best ideas for Georgia is a year long process,” Rogers said. “We are committed to working directly with Georgia citizens and our counterparts in other states to identify the most beneficial policy ideas ...
“Each senator appointed brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table when focusing on Georgia law and public policy.”
The Policy Group, in conjunction with the Georgia Solution Summits, will be a sounding board for policy and issues that are generated during the state tour of Solution Summits.
