ATLANTA — Former Hinesville Mayor Tom Ratcliffe has been appointed to the Coastal Regional Commission Council of Georgia by Gov. Sonny Perdue.
The commissions, formerly known as regional development centers, are the official regional planning and development organizations for local governments and citizens. Commission councils create policy direction for the area’s short and long-term comprehensive planning and serve as liaisons between regional communities and state government.
Coastal Georgia’s is based in Brunswick. Ratcliffe, who practices law in Hinesville, is to represent Liberty County on the council.
