Gov. Sonny Perdue is scheduled to be in Hinesville Friday around noon at the Savannah Technical College campus on Airport Road for a statewide business and housing expo. Liberty County is one of the six locations participating in the event, which is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The workshops and exhibits scheduled will help professionals, small business owners and others learn about options for federal and state funding and technical assistance.
“This is a unique opportunity to capitalize on a multitude of resources,” said U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah. “Whether you are thinking of starting your own business, applying for financial assistance or buying a home, the information provided during at the expo can expose untapped resources that people may not have known existed.”
Various government agency representatives and experts will host the expo and be available for questions.
“In rosy and gloomy economic times, Georgians have worked together to develop innovative solutions that keep our economic engines running,” Perdue said in a written statement.
“The expos will bring business, home ownership and government resources together to share information about federal, state and private economic development tools and other resources designed to encourage individuals and businesses to invest in Georgia’s economy and/or pursue home ownership.”
Representatives from Perdue’s office said Wednesday they could not confirm the governor’s Friday schedule. Several sources in the area, however, have said Perdue will at the Airport Road campus around noon.
