ATHENS — Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner Mike Beatty announced a series of public hearings for the state's citizens to provide comments regarding the how federal, state, local and private funds should be used to address Georgia's affordable housing and community development needs.
DCA currently is preparing an annual action plan for federal fiscal year 2009 funds. The plan must be completed before Georgia can receive funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Public input provides information for the plan's development. DCA has scheduled public hearings, but comment also will be accepted through various other outlets.
All interested parties are encouraged to attend and participate. Citizens that are unable to attend may still participate by providing comments.
