Brig. Gen. Jeffrey E. Phillips, deputy commanding general, 3rd Infantry Division-rear, addressed the Coastal Georgia Regional Commission on Feb. 10 in Richmond Hill.
Phillips updated commission members on the 3rd ID’s deployment timelines in Iraq and Afghanistan, and current Army budget effects at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The general thanked the commission for its support and pledged his soldiers’ continued assistance to their communities.
The Coastal Regional Commission is composed of elected officials and private sector members from 10 counties and communities in Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven counties.
