ATLANTA (AP) — In an April 7 story about a band of Creek Indians seeking to establish a reservation on the Georgia coast, The Associated Press erroneously reported that a bill had passed the Georgia Senate that would allow the state to transfer land to the group. The bill does not seek to allow such a transfer, and instead would prevent the transfer of lands under state jurisdiction to any sovereign tribal nation without the express consent of the Georgia General Assembly.
