SAVANNAH - City officials say they are trying to improve the way they investigate illegal rooming houses in Savannah.

Alderman Jeff Felser says the current process of investigating such places takes too long.

Authorities say the problem is growing, and Felser urged the city's zoning department to request more resources if necessary.

Savannah-Chatham police Cpl. Tracy Walden said the list of illegal properties is growing daily, and more people keep coming forward with information about new ones
