A tropical depression that formed quickly today over the Northwester Caribbean Sea could be close to the Georgia Coast by Thursday morning, but officials expect little danger from it.
Tropical Depression 16 had not reached storm or naming status by midday Tuesday, but the National Weather Service had starting tracking it.
The storm could kick up some rain, but fronts moving from the north across the Southeast are expected to keep the storm from developing more as it moves across Cuba and into the Florida Keys.
