State of city address Thursday

Bringing residents some good news and reminding them how lucky they are to be in more stable economic environment than most, Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas will address the future of the city Thursday.
Also, in the annual State of Hinesville address at the Progress Through People luncheon, he’ll discuss the city’s biggest issues that accompany development.
“I’m going to be addressing the explosive growth that’s coming to the area and our efforts to manage the growth.”
Thomas also said he will give information about the stimulus funds and how they will help the city get long-awaited projects like the transit system, off the ground.
The luncheon is at noon at the Econolodge and is hosted by the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce. For more information, call 368-4555.
