A severe thunderstorm watch issued for the area is to be in effect until midnight.
The National Weather Service’s Charleston office issued the watch just after 3 p.m. when a line of storms was headed toward Coastal Georgia. It is being swept across the area by a cold front that sparked storms from the Midwest into the Southeast Monday and Tuesday.
The watch is for 12 Southeast Georgia counties, including Bryan, Liberty and Long.
