Sunday fire
A Walthourville mobile home was damaged in a fire Sunday. No injuries were reported but one person has been displaced from the home.

One person has been displaced after a fire damaged their home Sunday afternoon.
According to Walthourville Fire Department Captain John Wells, members of the Walthourville Fire Department responded to a medical call at 3:15 p.m. that turned out to be a structure fire on the 600 block of Thompson Road.
Wells said when units arrived on scene they encountered a single wide mobile home with visible flames and heavy smoke coming from the home’s front door.
Wells said it took fire units a couple of minutes to extinguish the fire. Prior to the arrival of the fire department, Liberty County sheriff’s deputies knocked down a portion of the fire which had been contained to the kitchen.

The cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
