A man who reportedly jumped from a boat and was believed to have drowned was found safe late Wednesday morning, hiding in a marsh near a shrimp dock in the Sunbury area. The man was located by a Georgia Department of Natural Resources officer.

Liberty County Sheriff's Office Detective Micheal Kent interviewed the mud-covered man after he was cleaned up. Kent was unable to explain why the man jumped into the water. The detective said the man told him he was afraid of being around people. The fearful man was released with out any charges pending.
