Crime scene tape
According to Hinesville Police Detective, Tracey Howard, a duffle bag discovered at the probation office located at 104A North Commerce Street around 11 a.m. Wednesday led to the evacuation of the building.

Howard said a man had visited the office earlier and left his duffle bag in a common area of the building.  Employees finding the unattended bag deemed it  suspicious  and called 911.  When law enforcement officers arrived they evacuated the building. According to the Director of Public Safety, Mike Hodges, while officers were waiting for members of the Fort Stewart Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to arrive, the owner of the duffle bag returned to pick it up ending the situation.
