The Long County Blue Tide Rocket League team has finished the regular season on a high-note, winning its final three matches to clinch a spot in the state playoffs. On Thursday, November 17, the Wave Racers rolled in their regular season finale, three games to one over the Mountain View Bears.

The senior trio of Kaleb Driver, John Duritan and Brendan Mosley combined to outscore the Bears 14-7 in four games. The fourth game was finished as the Bears disconnected when the Racers got up 5-0, resulting in a forfeit win for the Racers.

It was a pretty even spread for the Racers on the day as Driver and Duritan both scored five goals each while Mosley added four.

Mosley scored two goals in game one to add to Driver’s one to win the game 3-1. Duritan added two goals in the third game while Mosley scored one in the Racers’ only loss of the set as they fell 4-3.

The fourth game was the only game where all three Racers scored as Duritan notched a hat trick and Driver and Mosley both scored one before the Bears disconnected and gave the Racers the 5-0 forfeit win.

With the victory, the Racers finish the year 6-2 and with a lot of momentum going into the playoffs. They are currently ranked number 16 in the state and likely will matchup with Monroe Area High School in the first round of the playoffs.

Playoffs begin Monday, November 28
